Before the visit
Prepare photographs, measurements and care labels. Give the exact number of items, floor, lift access and any entry restrictions. Residential buildings may need advance arrangements. Confirm the visit and travel once the scope and access are clear.
Clear space and protect valuables
Remove throws, loose everyday items and breakables from the work area. Leave heavy furniture in place unless moving it has been agreed. Explain where water and power are available. Keep walkways, doors and escape routes clear.
During the work
Keep children and pets away from the work area. Discuss problem areas before work starts and resolve material suitability questions first. Any extra piece of furniture needs to be agreed separately rather than assumed to be part of the original job.
After cleaning
Review the agreed work together and ask for drying and care instructions. Do not place throws over damp surfaces. If a sofa or mattress must be used at a fixed time, discuss that when planning the visit.
