Specify dimensions and sides

Provide width, length, mattress type, marks and whether one or both sides need attention. Toppers and protectors are separate items. A zip does not automatically mean the cover can be machine washed.

Control moisture

Manufacturer instructions take priority. Wet treatment may be unsuitable for sensitive foams or particular covers. A dry-feeling surface does not prove the core is dry. Bed use should not be planned around a universal number of hours.

Realistic expectations

Cleaning is not medical treatment or a guarantee against allergies. Deep urine contamination, mould or permanently altered materials cannot always be resolved by cleaning. Discuss the cause and possible alternatives before treatment begins.

One side, both sides or the removable cover?

Tell us the width, length, manufacturer and model. Prices refer to one side in the stated size. Edges and the underside are agreed separately. Photographs of the label and complete mattress help identify the construction and the surfaces you want treated.

A removable cover is a separate component. Its washing instructions do not automatically permit wetting the core. Where a material has an explicit water restriction, such as TEMPUR material, wet treatment of that core is unsuitable. We follow the instructions for the actual model.

Assess stains and odour separately

Show visible rings, discolouration and where a smell is noticeable. Mention previous products and repeated liquid incidents. An old ring may remain where the textile itself has changed. Cleaning an accessible surface does not necessarily reach a source deep inside the core.

For suitable surfaces, loose particles are removed dry first. Any permitted wet treatment then needs controlled recovery and thorough drying. We do not promise sterilisation or medical benefits. A damaged or persistently damp core may need assessment by the manufacturer rather than another surface treatment.

Replace bedding only when the mattress is dry

Remove bedding and the mattress protector before the visit. Make the mattress accessible and agree who can lift or turn a heavy model. We discuss a drying position suitable for its construction. Do not fold an unfamiliar core simply to expose more surface to air.

Plan another place to sleep if the mattress is still damp that evening. Check seams and contact areas as well as the middle. A cover that feels dry does not establish the condition of every internal layer. Contact us about unexpectedly persistent dampness or new odour before replacing bedding and protectors.
